What's inside the Ocean Travel Mat?
The Ocean Mat by Southern Shores consists of the following ingredients:
- 800g FSC certified Öko natural rubber
- 120g cotton (ök organically grown)
The FSC-certified natural rubber forms the top layer of the Ocean Travel Mat from Southern Shores and provides the best slip resistance due to its open structure für. To increase durability, an innovative fabric made from sustainably grown cotton was used for the underside. Furthermore, by using high temperatures to join the two layers, it was possible to eliminate the use of toxic adhesives.
Fair conditions
Southern Shores' manufacturing partner for Ocean Mat is Divertimento Inc (Part of SJ Group). Great emphasis is placed on social and environmental sustainability in the selection process (based in Taiwan).

Care of the Ocean Mat
For optimal care and use of your Ocean Mat, you should make sure to have short cut feet and avoid sharp objects on the mat. Natural rubber is a natural product and does not have the same durability as plastic, but is largely biodegradable. After each use you should wipe your Ocean Mat, preferably at least once a week with a damp cloth, so that you can then let it dry well.
You should avoid using soap or other chemical cleaning agents. If you want to care a little more intensively, Southern Shores recommends the use of a vinegar-water solution in the ratio 1:3, which you can mix yourself.
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause your Ocean Mat to become porous. Furthermore, you should not shower off your Ocean Mat, otherwise rubber can dissolve.
